In 2021 Uruguay was ranked 29th in the world for whey exports, overtaken by South Korea who reached $15.9 million. France, Germany and the Netherlands were the next biggest exporters, taking second, third and fourth place respectively. Uruguay's whey imports are set to reach $596,000 by 2026, a 0.4% increase from 2021. Since 1999, Uruguayan demand has increased by 3.4% annually.
