A new study by the Global Institute of Science has found that 537 million people in the world are currently living without access to clean drinking water. More than half a billion people are without clean drinking water, according to a recent study from the Global Institute of Science. The alarming report reveals that 550 million people – or 7% of the global population – are struggling to meet their basic needs for safe drinking water. This means that 1 out of every 14 people on the planet is unable to access clean water. The findings of the study are especially concerning, given that clean drinking water is essential for sustaining life. Without it, people are at an increased risk of dehydration, waterborne diseases, and even death.
