Peruvian acrylonitrile imports are on the rise. In 2021, the country imported 33 million kilograms of the chemical, up 1.4% from the previous year. This marks a steady increase since 1997, when the import rate was 2.6% year-on-year. Peru was the 14th-largest importer of the chemical in 2021, behind Hungary (30 million kilograms). India, South Korea and Malaysia were the top three importers, respectively. By 2026, Peru is expected to import 33 million kilograms of acrylonitrile.
