Japan's imports of butadiene are projected to reach 81 million kilograms by 2026, up 2% annually from 73 million kilograms in 2021. Demand has grown 2.3% a year since 1993. In 2021, the country ranked tenth in the world, with Belgium coming in first with 73 million kilograms. China, France and the US placed second, third and fourth respectively. Exports of butadiene from Japan are expected to decrease 7% annually to 17 million kilograms by 2026, down from 25 million kilograms in 2021. Supply has dropped 6% a year since 1993. Japan ranked nineteenth in 2021; Malaysia came in first with 25 million kilograms. Germany, Belgium and Brazil ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
