The Spanish market for butadiene is set to reach 7.2 million kilograms by 2026, growing at an annual average rate of 4.1%. This follows a 21% rise since 1994. In 2021, Spain was the 21st largest producer, with 5.6 million kilograms; Sweden topped the list. China, France and the United States were at the top of the ranking in positions 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Spanish exports of butadiene totalled 2.5 million kilograms in 2021, a 42.5% decrease compared to the previous year (4.4 million kilograms). Since 1994, exports have fallen 38.2%. Last year, Saudi Arabia was the largest exporter (2.5 million kilograms), with Germany, Belgium and Brazil following in positions 2, 3 and 4.
