Germany is set to become the world's second-biggest importer and exporter of dried fruit by 2026. Imports are predicted to reach around $231 million by then, up 0.9% year-on-year on average since 1996. In 2021, the US was the biggest importer with $218 million, while Germany, the UK and China followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Exports are expected to hit $284 million by 2026, with an average yearly increase of 2.2% since 1996. Thailand took the lead in 2021, with $246 million, while Germany, the US and Chile came in second, third and fourth respectively.
