The Maldives is set to become one of the world’s top importers of dried fruit by 2026. Demand for the product has risen 10% each year since 2000, and is now forecast to reach $1.07 million in 2026, a 2.9% annual increase. In 2021, the country ranked 84th in the world for dried fruit imports. Mongolia overtook the Maldives, with imports of $895,340. Germany, the UK and China followed in second, third and fourth places respectively.
