**Zimbabwean Sweeteners Market Faces Decline Despite Stable Production** **Harare, Zimbabwe** – The Zimbabwean sweeteners market is projected to decline to approximately 438,000 metric tons by 2028, down from around 445,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents a year-on-year contraction of 0.3%, continuing a trend since 2019 where the market has consistently decreased by an average of 0.4% annually. In contrast, Zimbabwean sweeteners production is expected to remain stable over the same period. Output is forecasted to reach about 564,000 metric tons by 2028, with little change from the 563,000 metric tons recorded in 2023. This represents an annual growth rate of 0% since 2019, during which time the supply has slightly decreased by 0.3% each year. In the global context, Zimbabwe ranked 50th in sweeteners production in 2023. Fiji led just ahead of Zimbabwe with an identical output of 563,000 metric tons. Major producers Brazil, the United States, and Thailand ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
