Nepal's imports of fishing equipment are expected to reach $116,000 by 2026. In 2021, the country ranked 123rd in the world, with $96,000 in imports. This is a 3.2% year-on-year increase from 2014, when it saw a 7.1% growth in demand. Gambia overtook Nepal to claim the 123rd spot in 2021. Japan, South Korea and Singapore ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Exports of fishing equipment from Nepal were valued at $17,900 in 2017, up from $4,400 in 2016 - a 303.5% increase.
