Demand for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams is growing in Australia. In 2021, the country performed 1.4 million exams - the ninth-highest number in the world. This figure is expected to rise to 1.6 million by 2026. Since 2012, the rate of growth has been 6.1% year-on-year on average. This is faster than the global average of 2.7%. Poland overtook Australia in 2021, recording 1.4 million exams. Germany, France and Spain were the top three countries respectively.
