Global demand for magnetic resonance imaging exams is forecast to reach 85.3 million by 2026, up 0.4% annually from 79.8 million in 2021. Since 2017, demand has fallen by 2.2%. In 2021, the US was number one in MRI exams with 31.8 million. Germany, France and Spain were numbers two, three and four respectively. South Korea saw a 17.3% year-on-year increase, while Chile was down 5.9% since 2017. European diagnostic imaging density is set to reach 10,070 units in 2026, up 1.3% year-on-year from 9,290 units in 2021. Since 2016, supply has grown 2.3%. Germany led the ranking in 2021 with 3,090 units, followed by Italy, France and Spain. Romania saw a 13.7% year-on-year increase, while Iceland has remained stable since 2016.
