Finnish pharmaceutical research and development (R&D) expenditure is projected to reach approximately $211 million by 2028, up from about $192 million in 2023. This represents an average annual growth rate of 1.4%. Over the past decade, Finnish pharmaceutical R&D spending has increased at an average rate of 1.8% per year since 2013. In the 2023 rankings, Finland held the 11th position, having been overtaken by Portugal, which posted an identical expenditure of around $192 million. Leading the global rankings were China, Germany, and South Korea, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
