Despite this growth, Malta ranked 33rd globally in transportation expenditure in 2023. Bosnia and Herzegovina surpassed Malta, registering the same expenditure of €823 million. On the international stage, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in the transportation expenditure rankings.
