This rate has been decreasing since 1965, at an average rate of 0.9% per year. Norway was 54th in 2021, with Turkmenistan overtaking it with 26.94 million tonnes of oil equivalent. The United States, India and Russia were 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
