In 2021, Greece was ranked 55th, overtaken by Israel at 1.05 exajoules. The United States, India and Russia were ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Greek energy supply is expected to reach 18.2 million tonnes of oil equivalent by 2026, a decrease of 1.8% year-on-year. This is a continuation of the downward trend since 1965, when supply fell by 2.8% year-on-year. In 2021, Greece was ranked 66th, overtaken by New Zealand at 19.75 million tonnes of oil equivalent. The United States, India and Russia were ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
