This is a continuation of the trend observed since 1970, where consumption has decreased by an average of 1.5% each year. Since 1965, the country has seen a decrease of 1.7% year-on-year. In 2021, Denmark was placed 72nd in the world ranking, with 14.55 million tonnes of oil equivalent supplied. Bahrain overtook Denmark, with 15.34 million tonnes of oil equivalent supplied. The United States, India and Russia were, once again, the top three energy suppliers, in that order.
