Bulgarian renewable energy generation is set to rise over the coming years. By 2026, it is expected to reach 6.53 terawatthours, up from the 5.26 terawatthours recorded in 2021. This represents an average yearly growth of 3.5%. Since 2009, the country has seen an annual increase of 10.7%. In 2021, it was ranked 21st in the world, with Hungary just ahead at 5.26 terawatthours. The United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy came in second, third and fourth in the ranking, respectively.
