Belgium's weapon imports are projected to decrease to approximately $152 million by 2028, down from around $157 million in 2023. This reflects a yearly average decline of 0.5%. Since 1965, however, the country's demand for weapons has surged by 175%. In 2023, Belgium ranked 41st in the world for weapon imports, trailing behind Mexico, which posted the same import value of $157 million. Leading the global ranking were Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. On the export front, Belgium's weapon exports are expected to rise to nearly $67 million by 2028, up from approximately $65 million in 2023. This signifies an average annual growth of 0.6%. Since 1965, Belgium's weapon supply has increased by 25%.
