Mexico has become the top destination for foreign direct investment (FDI) in Latin America. In 2019, the country received $248 billion in FDI, which placed it 20th in the world rankings. This marks a dramatic increase from 2018, when it was ranked 46th. Saudi Arabia, Australia and South Korea were the next three largest recipients of FDI in 2019, with $89 billion, $67 billion and $60 billion, respectively.
