Cameroon's air passenger traffic is projected to decline significantly over the next five years. By 2028, the number of air passengers in the country is expected to drop to approximately 52,000, down from around 102,000 in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 10.7%. The decline is part of a longer-term trend, as Cameroonian demand for air travel has been decreasing by an average of 17.4% per year since 1975. In the global rankings for air passenger traffic in 2023, Cameroon stood at 131st place. North Korea surpassed Cameroon, registering the same figure of approximately 102,000 passengers. On the international stage, China, India, and Ireland were among the top countries in terms of air passenger traffic, holding the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
