Copper exports from Panama are forecast to reach nearly $18 million by 2026. This is an increase of 2.4% per year from 2021 onwards. Since 2000, Panama’s copper exports have decreased by 1.8% each year. In 2021, Panama was 82nd in the ranking of global copper exporting countries, behind Armenia at $15.4 million. Germany, the United States and Japan were the top three global copper exporters. Meanwhile, Panama’s copper imports have decreased from $3.5 million in 2015 to $2.2 million in 2016. In 2016, Panama was 90th in the global ranking of copper importing countries, behind Ukraine with $3.5 million. Germany, the United States and Japan were the top three copper importers.
