Burkinabe imports of nickel skyrocketed 130% in 2018, from $2,760 in 2017, to a total of $6,360. This marks a considerable decline since 2000, when the country imported 44.7% more than it did last year. Gambia overtook Burkinabe to become the 141st highest importer of nickel in 2018. The United States, Japan and Norway took the top three spots in the rankings.
