Iceland's nickel import is projected to decline to approximately $258,000 by 2028, down from nearly $285,000 in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 1.6%. However, the long-term trend shows a different picture. Since 1993, Icelandic demand for nickel has climbed at an average annual rate of 1.9%. On the export front, Iceland saw a significant surge in nickel exports in 2018. The value of these exports more than doubled to around $7,200, up from $3,500 in 2017, marking an impressive increase of 107%.
