Romania's coal production is projected to decline to 0.1 exajoules by 2028, down from 0.12 exajoules in 2023. This marks an average annual decrease of 4%. The downward trend in coal supply is not new for Romania. Since 1986, the country's coal production has been diminishing at an average annual rate of 6.1%.
