Chilean food waste is set to rise over the next five years. In 2021, it was 8.9 million tons, a 0.9% increase since 2005. The country ranked 14th, with the Netherlands coming in first with 8.4 million tons. China, Germany and Japan followed in second, third, and fourth, respectively. Treated food waste in Chile is also expected to increase, reaching 9.8 million tons by 2026, a 1.7% CAGR since 2005. The country ranked 15th in 2021, while the Netherlands again came first with 8.8 million tons. Germany, Japan, and Mexico followed in second, third, and fourth, respectively.
