Since 1998, demand for phosphates in Cyprus has grown by a staggering 197% each year. In 2021, the country ranked 78th in the world for the highest import of phosphates. Macedonia was ahead of Cyprus in the ranking with $27.1 million. The United States, Indonesia and Lithuania were the top three countries in the ranking.
