The number of bank accounts in Brazil is expected to reach 1.3 billion by 2026. This is a decrease of nearly 26% from the current 6.6 billion accounts in 2021. Since 2012, the country has seen a drop of 13% year on year. In 2021, Brazil ranked 18th in the world in terms of number of bank accounts. Mexico led the way with 6.6 billion, followed by Japan, the United States, and Switzerland in the top four.
