French alumina production is set to fall to 242.5 thousand metric tons by 2026, down 2.4% year on year on average. Since 2003, production has dropped by 1.4% annually. In 2021, France ranked 20th in the world for alumina production, behind Romania, which produced 280 thousand metric tons. Australia, Brazil and India took the top three spots, respectively.
