Brazil's gypsum import is expected to grow in the next five years. It is projected to reach 499,620,000 kilograms by 2026, increasing at a CAGR of 4.1% from 2021. This is an increase from 386,260,000 kilograms imported in 2021. Since 1996, Brazilian gypsum demand has jumped 13.1% year-on-year. Meanwhile, gypsum exports from Brazil were down significantly in 2018. The country exported only 1,310 kilograms, compared to 80,860 kilograms in 2017. This represented a decrease of 98.4% compared to the previous year. Since 1994, Brazilian gypsum supply has decreased by 70% year-on-year. In 2018, Brazil was ranked 75th in terms of gypsum exports; Serbia overtook them with 1,310 kilograms. Thailand, Spain and Iran ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
