Mauritania's exports of gypsum are set to reach 106 million kilograms by 2026, a 4.2% growth each year on average. This follows a 9.6% rise in exports since 2013. In 2021, Mauritania was ranked 28th in the world for gypsum exports, with Latvia overtaking them with 81 million kilograms. Thailand, Spain and Iran were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Mauritania's imports of gypsum dropped by 62.7% to nearly 107 thousand kilograms in 2017, from 287 thousand in 2016. Since 2013, Mauritania's imports have decreased by 23.1% each year.
