Iran is set to become a major player in the global gypsum export market. By 2026, the country is projected to export 6.28 billion kilograms of gypsum, a 3.2% year-on-year average increase from 2021's 5.11 billion kilograms. Since 2002, Iran's gypsum supply has grown at an annual rate of 4.9%. In 2021, Spain led the rankings with 5.11 billion kilograms, followed by Thailand and Iran in second and third place respectively.
