Bahraini gypsum imports are on the rise. It is expected to reach 91.1 million kilograms by 2026, up 3.6% per year on average. This is an increase of 49% since 2005. Exports are also increasing, albeit at a much slower rate. Projections show that they will reach 87,000 kilograms by 2026, a 0.7% increase each year. In 2021, Bahrain was number 63 on the list of international exporters, with New Zealand taking the top spot. Thailand, Spain and Iran were the next three.
