Azerbaijani gypsum export is set to increase in the coming years. By 2026, it is projected to reach 139,300,000 kilograms, growing by 2% year on year on average. Since 2004, the country has seen an average annual growth of 6.4%. In 2021, Azerbaijan ranked 19th, with Kenya in the lead at 121,910,000 kilograms. Thailand, Spain and Iran followed at numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively. In contrast, Azerbaijan's import of gypsum fell drastically in 2019, to 501,390 kilograms from 652,510 kilograms in 2018 - a decrease of 23.2%. Since 2001, demand for the mineral has dropped by an average of 36.1% each year.
