Serbian gypsum imports are set to increase significantly over the next five years. In 2021, imports are estimated to reach 51,869,000 kilograms, a 3.4% year-on-year increase on average. Since 2010, demand for gypsum has grown by 9.2% year-on-year and is projected to reach 64,327,000 kilograms by 2026. Serbian gypsum exports have also seen an impressive increase. In 2018 exports reached 1,470 kilograms, up 3,980% from the 36 kilograms exported in 2017. However, since 2011 exports have been down by 40.1% year-on-year. In 2018, Serbia ranked 73rd in export levels, with Uganda ahead with 1,470 kilograms and Thailand, Spain and Iran holding the next three spots.
