In 2022, the number of available hotel rooms in Norway reached approximately 95,300, marking a 1.5% increase from the previous year when the figure stood at around 93,900 rooms. This growth trend has been observed since 1995, with the Norwegian hotel room supply rising by an average of 1.7% year on year. Norway was ranked 15th globally in terms of hotel room availability in 2022, with Bulgaria slightly ahead with the same number of rooms. Leading the rankings were Germany, Spain, and France, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. Regarding hotel occupancy levels, Norway experienced a significant decrease at the end of 2021. In December, the occupancy rate dropped to 25.4%, compared to 52.2% in November of the same year. This sharp decline highlights the challenges faced by the hotel industry in the country during this period.
