Greek hotel occupancy rate dropped to 18.2 percent in November 2021, down from 43.03 percent in October 2021, compared to the same month a year earlier, according to data from the Greek National Tourism Organization. Available hotel rooms in Greece are expected to reach 323,380 bedrooms by 2026, down from 311,570 bedrooms in 2021, with an average annual decline of 1.1 percent. Since 1999, the supply of hotel rooms in the country has decreased by an average of 5.5 percent each year. In 2021, Greece was the sixth largest hotel market in Europe, behind France (311,570 bedrooms). The United Kingdom, Germany and Spain followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
