Maltese Hotel Room Supply to Reach 24,300 by 2028 VALLETTA, MALTA — Malta's available hotel room supply is projected to reach approximately 24,300 bedrooms by 2028, up from around 21,800 in 2023, marking a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.7%. Since 1998, the country's hotel room supply has expanded at an average annual rate of 2.8%. In 2023, Malta ranked 26th globally in terms of hotel room supply, with Serbia closely trailing at the same number of rooms. Germany, Spain, and France occupied the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. Hotel occupancy levels in Malta saw a notable decline in late 2021. In November 2021, the occupancy rate stood at 52.3%, down from 65% in October 2021. This decline marks a significant drop compared to the previous year.
