However, since 1998, the supply of hotel rooms in the country has seen a slight decline, decreasing by 0.3% year on year. In 2023, Croatia ranked 16th globally in terms of the number of hotel rooms available. Norway, with a similar count of 79,990 rooms, edged out Croatia. Leading the pack were Germany, Spain, and France, holding the second, third, and fourth positions in the global ranking respectively. The hotel occupancy rate in Croatia experienced a significant drop in late 2021. In November 2021, the occupancy level stood at 21.9%, a substantial decrease from 36.8% recorded in October 2021.
