Hotel occupancy in Hungary dropped to 35.5% in December 2021, down from 42.4% in November 2021. This is a year-on-year decrease from the same period in 2020. The supply of hotel rooms in Hungary is expected to reach 71,860 by 2026, up from 68,920 in 2021. This will be a small 0.2% year-on-year growth rate on average. Since 1998, the supply of hotels in Hungary has decreased by an average of 1.4% year-on-year. In 2021, Hungary was ranked 17th in terms of hotel rooms, behind Croatia with 68,920 rooms. The United Kingdom, Germany and Spain came in second, third and fourth respectively.
