Macedonia's hotel industry is projected to expand, with the number of available hotel rooms expected to reach approximately 12,100 by 2028, up from around 11,400 in 2023. This growth represents an average annual increase of 1%. Since 1995, the country's hotel room supply has been rising steadily, averaging a year-on-year increase of 1.8%. As of 2023, Macedonia ranked 31st globally in terms of available hotel rooms, with Latvia surpassing it at the same figure of 11,350 rooms. Leading the rankings were Germany, Spain, and France, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions respectively. In terms of hotel occupancy, Macedonia saw a significant drop. The occupancy level stood at 35% in September 2021, a sharp decline from nearly 56% in August 2021.
