Peru is set to see growth in its annual salmon import, production, and consumption. In 2021, Peruvian salmon import is forecast to reach $2.42 million, a 2.7% increase year-over-year. This growth has been consistent since 2003, with a 0.5% year-on-year rise. The country's fish production is expected to reach 123,000 metric tons in 2026, a 1.9% year-on-year growth rate since 1973. Laos led the ranking in 2021 with 108,000 metric tons, followed by Indonesia, India, and Vietnam in second, third, and fourth place respectively. Peruvian fish consumption is projected to reach 451,530 metric tons by 2026, a 0.5% year-on-year growth rate since 2017. However, the demand has decreased by 0.6% year-on-year since then.
