Fish production in Sierra Leone is expected to reach 97,280 metric tons by 2026, up 1.5% from 87,400 metric tons in 2021, according to an annual growth rate of 0.6% since 1984. The country ranked 21st in the world in 2021, producing 71.3 million metric tons. Indonesia, India and Vietnam followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively. Sierra Leonean fish consumption is projected to reach 108,540 metric tons by 2026, a slight decrease of 0.8% from the 2021 figure of 111,830 metric tons. Demand for fish in the country has been declining by an average of 2.2% each year since 2017.
