Belizeans are set to consume 2.38 thousand metric tons of fish by 2026. This is a slight decrease of 0.2% compared to the amount consumed in 2021. Since 2017, the annual demand has decreased by 1%. Belizean production of fish in 2018 was 563 metric tons, unchanged from the year before. This is a decrease of 39.9% since 1991. Belize was ranked 132nd in the world for production in 2018, behind Burkina Faso. Indonesia, India, and Vietnam were the top three producers.
