Since 2000, the Irish market has grown 8.4% annually. By 2026, Irish fish production is expected to decline by 1.1% year on year, taking it to 34,160 metric tons. This is down from 35,930 metric tons in 2021, and is a 2.2% decline since 1965. Poland produced the most fish in 2021, with 35,930 metric tons. Indonesia, India and Vietnam took second, third and fourth place respectively. Irish fish consumption is set to reach 59,000 metric tons by 2026, a 1.6% increase since 2021, when it stood at 52,850 metric tons. Since 2017, Irish demand has risen 0.4% annually.
