Meanwhile, consumption of fish in Cyprus is predicted to drop to 4,090 metric tons by 2026, down from 4,320 tons in 2021, at a yearly average rate of 1.2%. Since 2017, demand has decreased by 2.8%. In 2021, Cyprus was the 83rd largest consumer of fish, with Afghanistan taking the lead. India, Indonesia and Vietnam followed in the second, third and fourth spots.
