The global number of practising dentists is expected to reach almost 490,790 by 2026, up 0.4% year on year from 2021's estimated 479,360. This marks a 0.8% growth since 2017. Japan currently leads the way, with 103,590 practising dentists, followed by Germany, Italy, and France. Hungary saw a rise of 4% year on year, while Switzerland decreased by 2.7%. The value of the global dental cement market is estimated to hit $10,066,000,000 by 2026, up 1% from 2021's estimated $9,479,900,000. This marks a 2% growth since 2017. European expenditure on dental services is expected to reach €71,010 million by 2026, up 0.8% year on year from 2021's estimated €67,990 million. This marks a 2% growth since 2016. Germany leads the way with €27,960 million, followed by France, Switzerland, and Spain. Romania was up 12.9% year on year, while Poland fell by 7.6%.
