The number of practising dentists in Italy is projected to reach approximately 55,000 by 2028, up from around 52,700 in 2023, reflecting an average annual growth rate of 0.7%. Since 2018, the supply of dentists in the country has been increasing at a rate of 0.9% per year. Italy ranked second globally in 2023, just behind Japan, which also reported around 52,700 practising dentists. France and Poland followed Italy in third and fourth place, respectively. Meanwhile, the dental cement market is expected to see a decline in value, dropping to roughly $305 million by 2028 from about $313 million in 2023, an average annual decrease of 0.4%. Over the past years, the market has experienced a yearly contraction of 1.6%. In this sector, Japan, Germany, and France were the second, third, and fourth largest markets, respectively.
