Global broadband subscriptions are expected to reach 1.6 billion by 2026, according to a recent report. This is an increase of approximately 246 million subscriptions since 2021, when there were 1.31 billion. The average annual growth rate since 2006 is 7.4%. China has the highest number of broadband subscriptions with 530 million in 2021. The United States, Japan and Brazil follow in second, third and fourth place respectively. Haiti's broadband subscriptions grew by 95% in the same period, while Chad's decreased by 100%.
