Demand has risen by 4% annually since 2017. The United States was the leading importer of metal products in 2021, with $12 billion. Germany, China and Mexico followed in second, third and fourth places respectively. Guyana saw a 29.9% year-on-year growth since 2017, while Gambia fell by 12.3%. European metal product sales are projected to reach €158 billion by 2026, with an average growth rate of 0.9% year-on-year. Since 2016, the European market has increased by 3% annually. In 2021, Germany was the largest market for metal products, with €31.4 billion. Italy, France and Spain ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Cyprus saw a 13.3% year-on-year rise since 2016, while Luxembourg decreased by 2.6%.
