European steel consumption is set to reach almost 5.9 billion kilograms by 2026, growing by an average of 0.7% year on year. Since 2017, demand across the continent has risen 3.1% annually. In 2021, Italy was the top consumer of steel, with 1.7 billion kilograms. Germany, France and Spain followed in that order. Denmark saw an impressive 5.4% rise year on year since 2017, while the Czech Republic experienced a decline of 2.5% over that same period.
